We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reading Teacher to join our elementary school faculty. The ideal candidate will provide targeted reading instruction to students in grades K–5, assess reading levels, and support the development of strong literacy skills through engaging, evidence-based teaching practices. This role plays a vital part in helping students build a lifelong foundation in reading fluency, comprehension, and critical thinking

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide direct reading instruction to individuals and small groups based on students’ assessed needs.
  • Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
  • Assess students regularly using formal and informal tools (e.g., running records, phonics assessments, comprehension checks) and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy instruction across the curriculum.
  • Participate in data meetings, IEP/504 meetings, and student support teams as needed.
  • Engage parents and guardians in the literacy development of their children through communication and resources.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Participate in professional development and implement best practices in reading instruction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). State teaching certification is not required, but it is preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching reading or literacy at the elementary level.
  • Strong knowledge of phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension instruction.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic reading assessments and intervention strategies preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Compensation: $41,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
